Course in Asbestos Awareness 10314NAT
This course is designed for all building and construction industry workers and any other workers that a Person Conducting a Business or Undertaking reasonably believes will work with asbestos containing materials.
Language, literacy and numeracy are required to complete the training and assessment.
This course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to anticipate and identify potential asbestos containing materials within their workplace and the reporting requirements when asbestos is present in their workplace.
The main objectives of the course include:
- Assessing the presence of asbestos;
- Health risks;
- Communicating the presence of asbestos;
- Risk management; and
- Legislative requirements
Unit of Competency
ASBIRA001A Identify and report asbestos materials and/or products
Assessment will take place during the 4hr allocated training session and will be in the form of a question and answer written knowledge test.
The courses will be delivered face to face via PowerPoint presentation, visual aids (e.g. typical asbestos samples) in accordance with the resource material provided under the course licensing agreement.
