The target group is any person who perform rescues procedures from live Low Voltage (LV) apparatus, not including overhead lines and underground cables in the work place.

Pre-requisites:
HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (delivered during conduct of course)

Description:
The course is designed to cover mandatory requirements of rescue from a live LV panel and how they apply in the context of transmission, distribution or rail work functions. It encompasses responsibilities for, health, safety and risk management processes at all operative levels and adherence to safety practices as part of the normal way of doing work.

There are two components to this course: a nationally recognised component which will provide learners with the confidence and competence required to provide CPR on an unconscious casualty.

Assessment:
Assessment for this unit of competency will be by simulation of work place practices. Assessment will occur over a range of situations. Assessment will be conducted through actual demonstration of competencies and written and oral testing of underpinning knowledge.

Delivery Method:
Training will be delivered utilising theory and practical activities. Simulation will be based on actual conditions and will include walk throughs of the relevant competency components. Delivery will include trainer led presentations / scenarios.
