Language, literacy and numeracy are required to complete the training and assessment.

Description:
This course is designed for all building and construction industry workers and any other workers that a Person Conducting a Business or Undertaking reasonably believes will work with asbestos containing materials.

The Training Fund Authority provides rebates for construction workers carrying out work in the ACT or based in the ACT.

The main objectives of the course include:

  • Assessing the presence of asbestos;
  • Health risks;
  • Communicating the presence of asbestos;
  • Risk management; and
  • Legislative requirements

Unit of Competency

Statement of Attainment will be issued to successful students on completion of course.

Assessment:
Assessment will take place during the 4hr allocated training session and will be in the form of a question and answer written knowledge test.

Delivery Method:
The courses will be delivered face to face via PowerPoint presentation, visual aids (e.g. typical asbestos samples) in accordance with the resource material provided under the course licensing agreement.
